Getting Your Components into the Public Version of HOMER Pro

HOMER Energy welcomes new components into the component library that ships free with the product. By getting your components into HOMER Pro, potential customers consider your products for their distributed generation or microgrid project from the earliest stages.

There is no cost for this program. There are only two requirements:
  1. You send us a .homer file with the component defined, and
  2. The component is commercially available.
Visit our knowledgebase article on Adding Custom Components to HOMER Pro to learn how to create your components in HOMER Pro. Then just save the file, and email it to us at component@homerenergy.com.

We will be in touch if we have any questions about your component.

We also offer optional enhanced visibility for those companies that wish to join our Component Partner Program. To learn more about that program, please email component@homerenergy.com, or read the downloadable program brochure.

! Important note regarding storage components: Storage components can now be modeled two ways in HOMER. The "basic" model is the one that has been in HOMER for decades. The new advanced model includes many features power users have been requesting - temperature sensitivity, degradation, and much more. Using the advanced model requires an extra-cost add-on to HOMER, so not all users will have access to it. For maximum visibility, we suggest that storage manufacturers create two models - one basic and one advanced - for each product.
