Grid Sellback Rate

Product: HOMER Grid 1.1.1

Where can I set the grid sellback rate in HOMER Grid?

If you're using a tariff from the database, the sellback rates are modeled within the tariff, but there are no easy ways for you to see what exactly this sellback rate is. Currently, you can only indirectly see that there's sellback based on the results.

We're working on a better implementation for this. The rule that we have hard-coded into the software is that (for these tariffs from the database) you can never make money from the grid. So HOMER Grid applies the sell-back rate until you're at net 0, and then there are no financial gains thereafter.

The exception to this hard-coded, no-net-income from the grid rule, is if you specify a 'Simple Tariff' with a sell-back rate. For the 'Simple Tariff', you can still limit the Grid Sale Limit, but it would be possible to make money, in theory, from the utility.
