Modeling Onsite Gas Storage

We are considering installing gas storage onsite. This will have no major impact on the model, other than incurring an initial capital cost, replacement cost and yearly O&M costs. We have simulated this using a hydrogen tank. Unfortunately, with the ‘Multi-year’ enabled the hydrogen tank is not supported. Is there another way we can model this?

From what I can see, there is an economics section to enter system fixed capital and O&M. Is there a way to input replacement costs in the model as well?

Two ways to do this:

  1. Convert the replacement cost into an annual cost by dividing it by the number of years until replacement. That could go into the System Fixed O&M cost. Furthermore, they could discount it, as it is a future cost.

  1. Use a hydrokinetic generator with power output set to 0 kWh. Then add capital, replacement & O&M costs. You do not need to add a resource (like you would with a hydrogen tank) and can run for multiple years.
