MATLAB Link Module
HOMER's "dispatch strategy algorithm" decides which components (solar, battery, generators, etc.) will operate to meet the load in a particular period of time. The MATLAB Link Module allows you to create and use your own dispatch strategy within HOMER Pro. You code the dispatch algorithm in MATLAB, which will integrate with the HOMER Pro software. This MATLAB Link feature gives you total control over how you want your microgrid model to work.
MATLAB Link is only one part of a suite of features that give engineers almost total control over how a microgrid will operate. Combined with features such as the generic component and Generator Order Dispatch, HOMER Pro moves from being a modeling tool to being a platform for understanding microgrid and DER operations.
The MATLAB Link Module requires a separate license for MATLAB, available from MathWorks.
